48 door piece

At the bottom, inside of the 48 doors, there was a piece applied just above the lower door lip. It was screwed on with metal screws. They were both so rusted I couldn't even see what they looked like when new.

Does anyone know what they might have been or what they did?

Thanks.

Yes, it holds the door seal along the bottom of the door. Let me know if you need a pic.

Re: 48 door piece

Yes please. I really have no idea what it looks like and don't know what to get and I need to test fit it before I go back to paint.

Thank you.

Re: 48 door piece

I'll see if I can get a photo of one of mine in a minute. I need to take some shots of some other stuff in a few minutes anyhow so going out to where the door stash is isn't a big deal.

Well this might work https://s173.photobucket.com/user/mr...?sort=4&page=1

I went out and took a couple of photos but my internet is too slow to load them on here even one at a time and my photobucket album isn't jiving with this page either.

This photo will show up if you click on it. dang I didn't realize that door was bent up at the bottom. That was one of my donor doors for my stretched doors now it is probably a patch panel donor.

If you watch this weatherstrip install video you can see where the piece is installed, it’s about 15 minutes into the video.

Re: 48 door piece

Thank you. I just ordered the pieces so I can make sure and put the holes back in the door where they belong and then paint. Weatherstrip install seems a LONG WAY away.

Re: 48 door piece

I'd buy the weather strips too and put them behind the metal strips to get the positioning right.

Re: 48 door piece

Thank you. I'll order them now. So I can drill the holes and then get back on the paint wagon.
