Re: 55 C4 Suspension/Nailhead Build
Made a little more progress. Steering is all connected. I went with 3 Unisteer U joints. I like the Unisteer joints because they clamp down and you just need to notch your steering shaft for them to lock in. I also installed a Flaming River support bearing. It is a bolt in kit and seems to do the trick. Steering feels good lock to lock. It is close but, I will have room for the exhaust to bolt to the header flange. I mocked my front sheetmetal on to get an idea of wheel fitment. Those are 15x7 with 4.00 backspacing up front and they look good. Overall I'm happy with the stance. Not sure what the final wheel will be. I want something classic looking so, I was leaning toward American Racing Salt Flats.

Re: 55 C4 Suspension/Nailhead Build
Looking good Chief. Steering came out well and the Salt Flat wheels will be a good choice imho.

Re: 55 C4 Suspension/Nailhead Build
Thank you for all the compliments and encouragement. I'm still undecided on wheels and paint. I could always run the steelies that are on there with a different color and caps/rings. The seat for the truck is finished. It is a torch red leather blend to match the corvette steering wheel. I'm leaning toward black with a red gut and red engine should look good. The seat was built by Cambridge Upholstery out of Minnesota. I highly recommend them. I also purchased all my extra material to make door panels, kick panels, headliner and whatever other panels.

The seat is a new build from the tracks up. He has everything in house to build these. Folds forward for access as well. He is backed up on orders. That is why I ordered the seat so far out. Ordered it in November and just got it this past month.

Re: 55 C4 Suspension/Nailhead Build
I recently saw classic industries carries a new seat from TMI for these now if that helps. Progress slowed down. I've been working overseas quite a bit. I installed my lokar throttle pedal and cable. Still need to figure out the bracket for my throttle cable and transmission kickdown to sit in. I also installed my filler door for the master cylinder. It was a cheapy $20 billet bed fill unit off ebay. I also have the seating position figured out. I will have the front rail mounts in the original location but, will mount the rear on the flat portion of the floor. It felt most comfortable in that position. The reproduction doors seem like they will fit ok.

Re: 55 C4 Suspension/Nailhead Build
I installed my inner fenders. Had to clearance them for my A Arms. I also installed my radiator and electric fan. The sidewinder fan solved my clearance issue. I lucked out and found a bottom radiator hose that fit once I cut it down. I'm still going with the custom water neck which will allow me to just fit a straight piece of hose on it. I also installed my fuel pump to fuel pressure regulator hose. Transmission cooler braided hoses have been ran. CPP shift column linkage is installed. Next I will be running my battery cables and installing the battery box in the bed. I'm thinking about putting it inside an old coca cola cooler since the red will match the interior and engine. I'm very close to being able to fire this up. Just need to order my wiring harness and battery stuff and I will have the last few big items out of the way so I can start her.

Hello,
I love the satin blue on your truck. What color is it, and who makes the paint?
