Is that rubber floor a gold color???
Was reading here about the CST's getting colored carpet, and the Custom's getting a colored vinyl floor mat, same color as interior (or body???). Never heard (or especially SEEN such a deal)of this...

Yes it is a gold/saddle color and you are correct about the customs having the color matched floor mats depending on the interior color.

By far the best thing was hidden behind the blue paint on the side. These trucks tend to tell you the stories.

So this means the bed was put on sometime between 1967 and 1969 before the previous owner. And interestingly enough the truck was painted with the bed off so the gold paint protected the original red since it was almost new.

Very cool Avion! There is actually one similar about 10 minutes from my house that is just sitting but it doesn't look nearly that nice. I really like the round body (airstream style) campers
