700R4 line pressure flutter
I built this unit a year or so ago. Checking the line pressure to make sure the TV was good I notice an extreme pressure flutter anywhere over 1/2 throttle. Were talking 125-175/200. I installed the full Transgo kit in the VB and the 700LU for converter lock up. I’m thinking I need to get rid of the .500 boost valve or there is an issue with the line bias valve. Looking for input from some of the trans gurus before I make a change.

Re: 700R4 line pressure flutter
I am attaching the GM pressure values for a standard 700R4 as a comparison....
What issues are you experiencing? Harsh shifts? Delayed 2-3? 700R4's have low pressure issues if the TV cable is not correctly set.... What carb is on the engine? How is the TV linkage setup? Pics of carb and linkage would help...

Re: 700R4 line pressure flutter
Idle is 75 or so. It doesn’t take much throttle to hit 125 and it stays solid @ that pressure until I get around 1/2 pedal then it begins spiking to about 200. The guage flutters rapidly between 125-200. As soon as I back off it’s a solid 125. It shifts fine, just a little early. 2nd is a little harsh, probably need to ditch the corvette service too. I haven’t played with the governor to set shift points.
Edelbrock carb with geometry correction bracket. I set it up based on a diagram from bow tie overdrives if I recall correctly. If I can stabilize line pressure I think everything else is good.
