I removed the rear axle from my 68 GMC and can’t remember which way the leaf springs go. Hoping someone can check their truck and let me know which way theirs are installed. My leafs are 23-1/2” from the bushing to the center pin on one the side with the band, 27-1/2” from bushing to center pin on the other side. Does the side with the band go toward the front or rear?

I have the heavy duty rear springs.
