Is This the Stock Shifter Linkage

The shifter was super sloppy in a truck I bought recently. The first problem was that the rod was installed upside down (the right-angle end was attached to the column). The second thing I noticed was that the linkage does not look the same as the setup in my old '72, including the hardware that attaches the rod to the steering column. Is this what shifter linkages and hardware looked like for the 1968 model year?

That looks like 73-87 linkage. The 90 degree end does go on the column.

The correct 67-72 linkage should look something like this.
Some of linkage slop can be cured with new bushing where the rod attaches to the column. Some vendors sell those too.
