3" lift, now another 2" body lift??
Now that I've got the 3" suspension lift (3" fabetch in the front and 2" springs in the back) w/ 32" tires, I think my '89 suburban would look even better with another 2" of lift.
I was pretty against body lifts before, but what do you guys think about a 2" body lift now?? The factory body mount bushings (or whatever you call them) need to be replaced anyway, so it would be easy to do when I replace those. I know this is more of a "lowering" board, but some of you like the lifted look... |

I liked the lifted look but from what I have heard from the suspension guy who installed my lift is you have to ask yourself this question...Would you put your house on stilts?....No...then why would you want your truck on stilts? I figured this sounded reasonable but what do I know. I used to own a 98 S-10 that I lifted with the fabtech suspension but went through too many balljoints and other problems I ended up selling it. I like lifted trucks but I can't afford the maintenance. This probably didn't help much...but good luck anyhow

Well, I don't like the way body lifts look, their only good if you want bigger tires because your frame, bumpers and all that good stuff will stay at the same height. Unless you are using it for an off-road truck then I say no to body lifts, the only reason I would want one is if I need bigger tires on my rig for off-roading but want to keep the COG a little lower.

I think your truck looks awesome with just the 3". Leave it alone! It would look wierd with a 2" body lift with the 32" tires anyway.

I have a 3 inch body lift on my yellow blazer. No problems at all. If you want 2 inch, go for it. Just remember your bumpers will not move unless you are crafty with the brackets and figure something out. No bumper gap on mine.

Sorry no pics of the bumper. I left my front wheel gap alone. All you can see are my headers anyway. Makes changing spark plugs easy too. Straight through the wheel gap. There are companies that sell gap covers as well.
