What did I fry?
Hi everyone,
I have an MSD ignition box and the power wire runs along the radiator support to the positive terminal on the battery. I recently put in a new radiator and must of damaged that wire in some way. It shorted against the radiator support and cooked pretty good. There didn't seem to be any other damage so I replaced that wire but now there is no power to the starter when I turn the ignition key. all the lights work and when I turn the ignition key the radio and the ac blower work. I was able to jump the starter and the truck started right up and ran fine. Could I have some how fried the neutral safety switch? Thanks for any help. |

Re: What did I fry?
Check the fusible link at the junction block on the fender

Re: What did I fry?
I checked the fusible link as suggested. its good. I have and extra neutral safety switch. I'm going to swap it out to see if it works. I don't really see how the short I had is connected to the neutral safety switch but its acting just like when I had a bad switch in the past. We'll see.

Re: What did I fry?
You can just unplug the neutral safety switch and use an alligator clip test wire to bypass it. Then see if it starts.
If you still have troubles I recommend posting a picture of how you have the MSD connected at the battery and what the battery terminal looks like. |
