wiper transmission and motor being a huge pain in the a**
I installed a new wiper motor, transmission linkage in my 69 c10 this week. Finally after hours of cussing I was able to find a nut to attach the two parts and finally assemble them all into a giant pile of crap. The motor has power and the switch works, moving said arms when turned on, but the linkage only seems to move back to one position only, not cycling through the full wiper function. It is not a delay wiper, just the typical two speed motor and switch. It is not getting hung up anywhere (the wiper transmission) and I am all out of ideas on why they would be just going to this one position.

might be the arms, there are left and right, and top and bottom. and the motor needs to be grounded really well as does the switch....

OK, here is picture of the screws. They look like #8-32 to me. The windshield wiper motor mounting screws are the same exact screw only longer. They both have a 5/16" head. LockDoc

Re: wiper transmission and motor being a huge pain in the a**
I know this is an old post but it helped me out greatly!!!! I removed my wiper assembly about six months ago and figured "I'll remember how it goes", famous last words for a lot of us I'm sure, well I didn't. I spent a lot of time searching how they go and saw a lot of misinformation. Your's was spot on!!!
Thanks!!!!! |
