seat belts

Whats the deal on seatbelts.
Truck is almost finished and I ddint think of this ahead of time.

Are 2 point belts ok ?

Does anyone have a good install video/thread of a 3 point system ?

I see people refering to julianos. I like the 2 point belts as I can anchor by drilling directly into floor with some reinforced brace behind.

Not sure on tearing up the piller/side for a 3 point ?

Re: seat belts

i had 2 point belts for years, they worked fine. then because of safety concerns i up graded to 3 point from Juliano's. they are even better. mounting the top bolt is easy. if its an AD just remove the headliner, drill a mounting hole for the bolt about even with the hole in the door seal track. also drill two holes to plug weld the bracket in. fish the bracket down on some fish line, weld it in & your done. there is a good u tube video on how to install these belts. good luck.

Re: seat belts

Painted by a PO - wasnt planning to repaint the inside - but if I have to.

Main thing on the panel is a I have a large piullar behind me but seems really thin.
So would need to reinforce somehow.

Not exactly the same ....... but a bit like the pic passenger sied don post #2 on this thread

Re: seat belts

Buy new, don't use belts salvaged from a donor vehicle.

Juliano's aren't cheap compared to some but they were one of if not the first aftermarket seat belt manufacture of quality belts for hot rods, custom cars and trucks. They have always sold a quality product that is the standard of the industry.

48 Chev 3100 that will run a 292 Six.
71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant.
77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Im cutting the hold down bracket and putting the original belt from the truck back in to fit the crap audi seats I habve in them.. There are just these.

This will be just to get the truck licenced and something to keep me attached when on road.
I'll look at the 3 point system - but need to work out how to reinforce that upper mount point with pretty thin sheet metal.

Not sure if someone has a build thread doing same.

Re: seat belts

juliano's come with re inforcement plates for the top mount and also the floor mounting plates. I used the uppers, but made lower mounts that are welded to the cross sill and are a mounting point for my rear cab mounts.

Looks like around $250 for a set of two (julianos).

These ones are around $150 with shipping. I'd have to fabricate a top mount but looks simple enough.

These ones (non adjustable) but still 3 point .......
Around $90 shipped.

All seem to have good reviews.
