headers in lowered trucks

I am thinking that I should get shorty headers for my truck (3/4 drop) so that I don't have any clearence problems.

Does anyone have photos of how low regular length headers sit compared to the shortys?

If I chose Shortys, what application do I look for? There is no listing for this truck in shorty, just regular length.

Thumbs up Headman

I ordered Hedman shorty's from Summit racing HED-69640 Painted $125.88 +8.95 handling no ship charges. Summit call's them Jeep wrangler Chevy V8 conversion Headers. I went to the Hedman site and found that these Headers will fit the 67-72 auto and manual on the floor. I ordered them because I have A 4-speed manual, Hopefully next year I will be installing A 700R4. I also called Headmen and talked to A tech and he confirmed that they would fit my application. A friend of mine has some painted long tubes (Headman) on his 70 4X4 and they look to be in very good shape and he has had them for 9 years.

When you install that 700r4, look me up, I might be interested in that 4 speed, depending on the make/style/gearing of course.

if you dont plan more than a 3 -4 " drop up front, the full lenght headers are not a problem. I run Hooker comps on the longhorn, & with a 3" drop on the nose end, i still have a little room for some drop. my exhaust is all below the rails(tucked up pretty tight tho)....no road rash on anything crazyL

I am going to put 3/4 length headers on my 70 shortie. I found Flowtech ceramics @ summit p/n BIG-31000 $209.95 and the tube that starts where the headers end is called Tube Hugger also @ summit p/n BIG-10010 34.95. I think it will keep everything tucked up very nicely and wont break the bank.

Tim

Sorry they are shortys not 3/4
