681968 C10 LS swap first time on the drag strip
So here is the deal. MN street rod association puts on "The super secret fun run" at the drag strip in Brainerd MN in a couple of weeks from now. I am a member and as member I can run my truck on both the road course and the drag strip as long a it passes tech which should be no problem. The road course will just be a cruise.
So I've never done a proper 1/4" mile pass. Plenty of short burns but nothing against the lights. So my setup is a LS1/4L60e that makes 380 rwhp that will light them up thru second gear into third. 3000 stall converter. 285 wide tires at the back. Rev limiter is set at 6500. Trans is set to shift at full throttle at 6000 rpm so I don't come up against the rev limiter. Any tips on leaving the line without just spinning? I watch some of the car shows and they say "pedal it out of the box"? Is the start line of the drag strip much more sticky than the typical tar road. Any tips will be helpful. |

did you put on adjustable trailing arm brackets (anti squat?) with your drop?
That made a huge difference on traction for me. Im making around 700 RWHP and the difference in traction was unbelievable. |

Re: 681968 C10 LS swap first time on the drag strip
I would order a set and try them out, i fought traction for 5 years with my truck. Put on double adjustabe drag shocks, tubbed the rearend for a big tire, swapped to a 29x15x15 tire on a 12" wheel and it would just blow them off even at low boost, first day with the brackets on and it planted the little 275/60r15 tires.
20" wheels arent gonna hook well either. https://www.tinworksfabrication.com/...t-Bracket.html |

Thanks for the advice. After you bolted on the adjustable mounts did you move the trailing arm down?

Re: 681968 C10 LS swap first time on the drag strip
There are posts on here as well to just "flip" the stock ones. That is what I did and I seems to help in the traction part.
They are a pain to remove as they have several rivets holding them in place. They get cut or hammered out. Dave

If you have never been down the strip you cant compare it to what the truck will do on the street. If they do any track prep at all you will be surprised on the differance.

Did you end up running the truck? What were the results?
