Fuel Cap Decal
Anyone know if a 77 C10 is supposed to have some type of "unleaded fuel only" decal around the fuel cap area? My owners manual states unleaded fuel only is required so I'm assuming there was. Looking for a pic for reference if anyone can help out. I know 81-87, which has a different setup with a fuel door, had the decal on the door itself.

Re: Fuel Cap Decal
Don't know about the filler area. I know the fuel gauge was marked either "Fuel" or "Unleaded Fuel Only" depending on how the truck was configured and possibly which state(s) it was built for original sale in.
My 75 C10 was build as a Heavy Duty with a 6200lb max weight so was exempt from the unleaded and converter requirements and has a "Fuel" gauge. Don't remember any "Fuel" decal around or on either of the tank caps. One of the caps is original but any decal probably left many years ago if it ever existed. The light duty version required converters and unleaded. Not sure if it was possible for a 77 C10 to have a high enough max weight placard to earn a converter exemption. |

Re: Fuel Cap Decal
Yes, the sticker usually was just applied above or below the fuel cap on the bed side. Can't remember which way. Long, skinny sticker.
