Where's the best place to buy a radio
I've been working on my 1970 C10 Chevy for a few years now, and one of the first things I did was replace the old broken radio and speakers. Unfortunately, one year after making the switch the radio died on me. I'm still not sure if it was the radio or something else, but the fuse never blew so I have taken to blaming the cheap radio.
Well now I am looking to try again, and I was hoping someone on here could recommend a website or shop that sells good quality radios for my truck. I am hoping to keep the price of the radio and a couple speakers under 500, but maybe that isn't possible so just let me know if you have any ideas. Thanks! |

Re: Where's the best place to buy a radio
I had my stock radio converted by Gary Tayman. Now it has AM/FM and USB. It's been in the truck for over 3 years and 23k miles. The only annoyance is the USB random function.
Welcome aboard! Post us a photo of your truck.

Here is some pictures. The truck seat was just refurbished by some Amish folk who live nearby.

Re: Where's the best place to buy a radio
I put a Custom Auto Sound unit in my truck.
Mind you, a simple radio is good for me, so when I find I can hook my iTunes to it is a plus. |

Re: Where's the best place to buy a radio
Thanks for the suggestions everyone, and special thanks to anyone who complimented my truck. I'll be taking a closer look at these things and hopefully have something installed in the next couple months.

Re: Where's the best place to buy a radio
I used Crutchfield for my 2005 Colorado. Easy in and out, and they sent the harness so I kept all the stock sounds and warning signals. i recommend them, not very expensive and good stuff.
