12 bolt carrier swap question

I have looked but cannot find a answer so I ask. Is a carrier from a 12 bolt 1/2 ton the same as a 3/4 ton? And the newer 5 lug and older 6 lug carriers the same? I know the axles are longer on the 5 lug 1/2 ton vs the 6 lug 1/2 ton But will the carriers interchange? And same question for the 3/4 ton carriers. will they go into a 6 lug 1/2 rear. Yes I am looking for possible donor trucks for a 12 bolt limited for my 68 with 3:73 and just want to know what will swap.
Thanks in advance
Rick

Re: 12 bolt carrier swap question

It has to be a 12 bolt truck
It will fit
63-69 70 71-72 73-82 ish somewhere around here most trucks started to get 10 bolts
Axle length and bolt pattern will be year specific

I have only seen eaton ho52 and dana 60s in 3/4 trucks
