Finally I can post
Joined back in December and finally am able to post and show the truck I purchased and have been steadily working on since then.
It is a 1964 C10 which I have semi-repaired most of the metal on, mostly been patch jobs. I replaced both rockers inner/outer, partial parts of the floor, door pillars and kick panels. Repaired bed sides mounting rails where it bolts to floor and door bottoms inner/outer. I have rebuilt steering and suspension completely. Added power brakes, disc in front and power steering. It has the complete front end from a 74 C10 with all new parts. Currently finishing the drivers side door, then still need rear frame fuel tank (Boyd welding tank), lines, interior and power train. This has been pretty much a from scratch build, started with a rusted out body and a frame. Have done a 3/5 drop on it with C notch. I have several hundred pictures of the process, wish I could have shared them over the past few months but the website would not let me post anything. Replaced the front roof sections, inner and outer.
Was a bear to weld in place, I am a novice welder and was using a flux core at the time. Now have a decent mig set up i am using for the doors and hood...wish I had it back when I was doing the majority of the rust repairs. |

Re: Finally I can post
Here is the passenger door, cut out inner/outer bottoms and welded in patch panels. Came out ok, better than having the whole bottom rusted out I guess. Only issue I had was the heat got to the outer skin and bowed it in.
Cant really notice it unless you get a good side profile view and really look at it. |

Re: Finally I can post
Searching for a motor now, want to get it in the garage and cleaned up this fall and ready to drop in.
Plan is for an LM7 and 4l60e combo. Edit: Found a 5.3L - LM7 today and will be picking it up Tuesday.

Re: Finally I can post
Very nice! Just like my dad's old truck. Except he never fixed it up (wish he had at the time). I can't wait to see it progress.

Looks like you're on your way. BTW, your welds are much prettier than mine. The payoff will be when you drive it. Stick with it, you're doing good!
