To others who sent pictures - many thanks! One question - in some of the pictures there is a "junction" of sorts that I found on my truck. Always in black wires. If you pull it apart you see a little clear tube going into a sort of sleeve. What the heck are these things? Never seen them on other cars and trucks. Did GM use them?

Ammeter fuse there are two on the truck little glass tube is a fuse

Ammeter wires go through firewall here. The black one goes to the fuse holder by the battery, and the black with white stripe one goes to the fuse holder by the driver side headlight.
