Power Steering Bracket
Hello Gang, I installed a BluePrint engine in my 68 GMC and they suggest an 8 inch harmonic balancer. The p/s bracket that came on the truck is the cradle type that bolts to the 2 vertical holes, front of block next to the timing cover and that bracket will not allow me to use the 8" balancer. BTW, I am using a short water pump. How is everyone going about this issue if you are running something different than the standard balancer? Thank you!

Re: Power Steering Bracket
That's beautiful, and exactly what I am referring to. Can you post a pic of the bracket that you are using? I am not running a/c yet (future) but, I'm not a big fan of moving things around the motor either. Trying to keep the stock look while updating the 50 years of evolution.
BTW, That looks like the same bracket that I am using. Most repo houses say it is a Big Block bracket. Of course the more I ask here, the more I learn |

Re: Power Steering Bracket
Bought it off the parts board from another member , But then I had to have the stock alt bracket chromed and then may as well get chrome pulley's and chrome alt and chrome power steering pump and chrome oil pan and chrome timing cover and chrome 2 1/2" rams horn manifolds , It just keeps going chrome but that's what we used to do way back when

Re: Power Steering Bracket
Two brackets together. It's not a great pic but I'm working on mine right now.

Re: Power Steering Bracket
Reviving an old post, but does any one know the number for the stamped rear bracket in these pictures that bolts to the engine mount?

Re: Power Steering Bracket
This is the one i used on my short water pump. I cut the back bracket off and redrilled it. I had to make some mods to it as you can see in the pictures but it worked fine.
