SM 330 Muncie 3 speed

Picked up an SM-330 3 speed trans from a guy that said it came out of a 69 Chevy truck with 4 bolt main 350.. I'd like to use it to replace an SM-318 but it's longer, I think 22".. the SM-318 is 17 inches long.. I guess I should have grabbed the driveshaft too but at that time I thought they were the same length.. Anyone done this swap before in a 60-66 truck?

Yes sometimes the front bearing retainer is larger on the full syncro trans. the rear splines might be different. the shift arms and collum linkage need modifying. you will likely have to shorten your driveshaft.

Shortening your driveshaft should be fairly easy to get done. Might have to swap slip yokes as well, but that depends on the output shaft splines of the old vs new trans
