What bushings are needed for a 68 Chevy grille on a 71 GMC - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I put a 68 grille on my 71 GMC fenders and mounted my headlights directly to my 71 radiator support. I like the look of the 68 Chevy grille better than the gmc. The question I have is do I need to use 68 Chevy radiator support bushings or can I use the 71 gmc bushings. My son tried to mount mount my number and the bumper wants to rest on top of the lower part of the Chevy grille. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Go by the year of radiator support. Chevy and GMC are the same, 67/68 or 69-72. Do you mean the bumper touches the grille or it laps back over the lower grille? With your swapping around mixing up those years it might be that the 67/68s would work better. The bushing set doesn't cost much, so see if the early style works better

67 68 rad support brackets have a smaller hole then the 69 72

These are dictated by what year your frame is

You can either cut off the larger centering part or enlarge the hole in the bracket

The bumper is from a 70 Chevy, and it overlaps the grille and touches it Where the grille tucks under the bumper. I may try the earlier bushings to see if it will pull it down some. Or I might cut the sleeve down a bit and try to draw it down some. Thanks for all the input guys, really appreciate it.
