inside mirror measurement

got new windshield with out a pre glued metal tab that holds the rear view mirror on. Anyone have a measurement on where I need to glue the tab on to the windshield. I figure center on the glass where the antenna is . just looking for a distance from the top of the windshield down. Thanks

Re: inside mirror measurement

Does your windshield have the built in antenna? If so, center the tab between the lines. Bottom of the tab is about 5.5" I've enclosed some images that I hope will help you. Bottom of mount is about 5.5" from windshield rubber, and is about 29.5" in from lip of rubber on the left side.

Re: inside mirror measurement

I took my mirror an placed it between the visors and moved it so the visors wouldn't hit it when pulled up or down. I sorta just guessed on how far down to bring it. I'll try and get some meausrements later this morning.

I did the same thing. Just low enough to clear the visors.

One of my trucks is mounted in the tinted area and the driver visor hits it. Now I need to figure out how to lower it without breaking the glass.

Re: inside mirror measurement

I put mine just right below the tinted part of the window. I found a used Saturn Vue mirror that has direction and outside temperature. The closer to the top the easier to hide the wires. I like to know how cold it is when I get lost

Re: inside mirror measurement

Up high in the tint strip so you can't see it thru the windshield

Re: inside mirror measurement

Same as above. The height of the mating mirror mount + a little bit to get it as high as possible.
