72 C10 Cab/Bed Weight and Lift Question

So i have a few questions.

How much does an empty 72 C10 Cab weigh?

And how much does a 72 C10 step side bed weigh?

And has anyone see a homemade or some kind of kit that connects to the rafters in a garage that would allow you to use pulleys to hoist the bed/ empty cab off of the frame. Maybe a 2-4 pulley system that would distribute the weight? I am not looking for anything to lift massive weight just a system that would allow me to lift the bed/cab off and roll the frame out to work on it and when done roll it back into place. I am just trying to optimize limited space. Thanks.

Re: 72 C10 Cab/Bed Weight and Lift Question

I'd venture to guess a short fleet bed weighs ~300 lbs. Me and a buddy moved mine.

The cab is really going to depend how much of it is still there (gas tank, seat, steering column, brake booster, A/C, windshield, door, etc). Probably around 300 lbs stripped also.
