Yeah they can be disassembled and restored. The metal mounting tabs are really brittle, so you have to be really careful. If the six plastic tabs are intact you have a good starting place, as these are not reproduced.

Re: 67-68 Horn cover

Is there a difference between the 67-68 button? I bought that vintage of steering wheel for my 71 and the button just says Chevrolet. Also it doesnt have the ribs with the black paint...its basically smooth.
Not that it matters but this one looks pretty nice!

The deluxe button pictured will fit 68 steering wheels, but came originally only in 67 custom and cst trim levels.

My all original '68 CST has the painted or coated silver horn button that has Chevrolet on it.

Interesting it has an argent surround and not chrome on the gauge bezel, ‘68 CST’s came chromed and became standard for all trim levels in ‘69.

I am the second owner of this truck. The previous owner bought it new. I don't think the gauge panel has ever been out of the truck.

That's what I have gathered, from being a member, here.

Rich, I saw you purchased a pair of Gold sun visors. Do you have a Golden 68???

Just wondering.
