Re: Seat belt ID tags

Turns out that the seat belts that were in my Suburban are aftermarket from a company called Shore-Calnevar Inc., photo attached. Perhaps the original owner felt that the aftermarket seat belts were cheaper than buying the factory belts. I was told that the original belts had 3 row webbing like your's, and the belt manufacturer that GM used was Irving Air Chute Co. I have found, what I believe to be original GM seat belt tags. I have attached a photo of my seat belt tag, and an original GM seat belt tags by Irving. I am led to believe that original seat belt tags are getting very hard to find. So doing a correct restoration, I have to ask, is it correct to use the aftermarket seat belts that the original owner had installed? Or, are the GM belts from Irving a must for correct restoration?
