Diesel bell housing?mehcanical clutch rod on hydro assembly?

Ok so I've been searching all morning and cant find a solid answer.is there a difference in diesel and gas bellhousings?
I've read you can convert a mechanical pedal assembly to hydro, but can you go the other way around?not trying to be unique, just trying to use what I have.i found a pedal assembly for $20.it didn't seem right that it was taken apart, but for $20,I figured take a chance.turned out I bought an automatic setup with the brake and clutch pedal thrown in the box.not a big deal.i made it work.
So I'm wondering if it's possible to hook up the mechanical push rod to the hydro pedals?

(Also it looks like they used the pedal assembly for scrap.it had a huge chunk taken out.)

Also, what is the hole on the top of the pedal assembly for?I tried to make an arrow with my fat fingers..

(My friend had his pedal assembly out so I was able to take measurements to modify my automatic setup)

The AMG 6.2L & 6.5L diesel and Chevrolet V8 gasoline bellhousings use the same Corporate GM engine to bell bolt pattern.
There are several transmission to bell bolt patterns.

Any difference in the starter area?I read you have to grind something for the diesel starter to clear?

The Delco 27MT AMG diesel starter is significantly longer than the gasoline engine starter and the nose is not the same.
I doubt you can bolt a 27MT to a gasoline engine with the diesel nose and Bendix.
