Is my bed size "normal".

Good Morning,

I am trying to find a topper, camper shell, cap, etc. for my 1968 C10. I can't seem to find one the right size.

From the outside of my bed rails it is 71" wide and the length from outside of the front bed rail to the back of my closed tailgate is 91".

The width I can find, but the length at 7.5 feet I am having trouble with.

Is this a "normal" bed size for a 1968 C10?

Re: Is my bed size "normal".

You are going to be better off posting in the pickup section. This section is primarily Suburban specific.

Seems like maybe the rear of the bed section was shortened?

It may be just the pic but your rear wheel doesn't look centered in the well opening.

doesn't look it is at all. What in tarnation is going on here. did someone only shorten the back half of the bed but then why is the wheel well not centered. how far back do the frame rails go back?

Look up the vin and see what the truck was originally.

Good thing I saw this post! I thought I had stepped into the Twilight Zone there for a couple of posts.

And yes, the rear wheels look way forward in the wheel wells. A pic of them from straight across the axle would help.

Re: Is my bed size "normal".

Rear wheels are definitely off to far forword in the wheel well

You need to check your wheel base measurements as well
115 sb 127 lb as posted in the diagram

Does the frame look original ?
Any cuts and welds under the cab ?

I have a bobbed c10 looks like a sb with out a bed until you realize rear wheels are 10 inchs to far back
