Wheels

Hey everyone, can someone answer a question for me, we are looking at the wheels I have included. Have a 6 lug 5.5 pattern I would assume these would fit, but according to the description they will not. Can someone give me a little wheel education, I am also doing a front brake conversion to disk brakes, and I really don't want to install the brakes then find out I have a issue with the wheels. From a chart I found on-line i should have 1/2" lugs.

Oh yes, the truck is a 70 cst/10 LWB with a 6 lug configuration.

Thanks,

Re: Wheels

17 diameter should clear most disc conversions
8 wide with 4.5 backspace puts them pretty much stock width and backspace

There lug nut size is off 71 up 5 bolt are 1/2x20 67 72 6 bolt are 7/16x20
What disc conversion are you going with ?

Re: Wheels

gmc684x4,
I was looking at a front disk conversion from Tuckers, but I've had other recommendations from other members, so I'm still looking.
I need to get a rolling chassis, the truck has been in the garage for over 20 years on rollers. I want to be able to get it out of the garage. I just hate to make an investment on wheels and tires just to find out I have issues down the road when installing my front brakes..

Re: Wheels

Are you going stock c10 size disc brakes ?

Stock size front disc will fit 15 wheels some drum brake wheels may hit calipers

Are you lowering your truck as well ?
Some drop spindles hit on a 15 inch wheel

Stock sized brakes will clear a 17 wheel that hits a stockish 4.5 backspacing

Re: Wheels

One option is do your brakes first if stockers rub look up craigslist etc for used wheels to use as a roller while you build

I am looking at 17 inch torque thrust in a 5 bolt as my parts truck has 72 front and rear suspension going to use western chassis 2.5 drop spindle 1 /4 or new stock /3 reardrop springs from gmcpauls there the only place besides Ece that has them from what i have seen and Ece has not yet reopened under Holley

Original springs if there not tampered are proubly 1.5 to 2 drop already

Seen to many post about fitment of cpp rough ride spindles hit wheel

I will be adding hydro brake booster that will help on the wo power

Going with wheels last for one i am not sure of color scheme and how many other things i will change before then
