Chrome bezel vs painted bezel, Cheyenne - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I have a 71 Cheyenne Super. The outer part of the bezel is chrome and of course the inside is the wood grain.

I also see some Cheyenne bezels with the painted, kind of silver-ish, bezels and wood grain inside. Is it a year thing or?

Pretty sure the silver was later or replacement part. Far as i know they all left the factory with chrome edges on cheyennes or sierras.

Agreeing with too_much. Chrome was factory and is hard to produce so silver paint was/is done.

GM produced Chevrolet tailgate bands went from chrome metal letters to chrome plastic letters then to painted letters.

My C30 Super isnt going to be anything close to a show piece, but I see the painted bezels come up for sale and was thinking about picking one up. Id rather just keep my original one now.

I have a NOS Cheyenne Dash Bezel with Chrome edges. They exist or existed at one point, but most you find these days are silver trimmed from the 80's.
