WTB: 63-66 suburban or panel gas tank
I've decided that I want to move my gas tank out of the cab, but I also want to keep my spare tire under the bed. After looking at some options, the factory suburban or panel tank seems to meet my criteria.
I need a tank in good shape that holds gas. I would also like to have all the fuel neck pieces, and if possible, all the fuel door parts that are needed to graft it into my bedside. Thanks!

Re: WTB: 63-66 suburban or panel gas tank
I have all of the fuel fill parts. The original tank/straps were no good. The body section around the door is good as is the door. The rest has some amount of rust but I saved it all so someone could at least use it for mockup if they don't repair it. The fill neck is good. $40 plus shipping for all of it.

Christian , you think you could use Bryans under bed tank he took out of his 66 and make it work . He just put a Boyd tank in his for his LS Swap .

Re: WTB: 63-66 suburban or panel gas tank
It would fit, but I would have to move the spare tire into the bed. The factory suburban tanks have a cutout for the spare tire, so it will end up working perfectly for what I want to do. I also don't want the filler neck to be in the bed, so that's another reason to get everything from a suburban or panel

I cut away more of the bad metal to reduce weight and sanded away the paint. Here is an updated picture. Shipping is $20 via UPS Ground. 10# boxed. It could be less if you don't want the inner panels. They are rusty but are good for mockup or fix them if you want.

Re: WTB: 63-66 suburban or panel gas tank
Do I need the inner panel to make everything work? I have not looked at how it all attaches and such. I want to weld the fuel door into the bedside of my truck so it looks factory.

No, it's not needed to make it look factory from the outside.

Re: WTB: 63-66 suburban or panel gas tank
Actually, I'd rather just leave it on in case I decide that I want to use all of it. What's your preferred method of payment?

Re: WTB: 63-66 suburban or panel gas tank
I just checked UPS again. The "billable weight" is 19 lbs whether it weighs 10 or 5 lbs, so no savings at all.

Ok, so who has a good tank and strap? Time to add some room to my cab and make the truck a little safer!
