Thanks for sharing the pictures. Was there not enough room between the block and manifolds to comfortably run them inboard? Would love to see more pictures of the rest of the exhaust routing. If you could take pictures during the exhaust build and note any issues I would really appreciate it.

There wasn't It was really tight so I went around. Not ideal, but it works.

Here is my post on the exhaust. I was, and still am not, happy with the magnaflow exhaust. I just don't like how it fits. I haven't messed with it since I put it on. So I started tinkering with the cruise control last night. My PSI harness manual had a diagram in it that was similar to one I found on here courtesy of Ackattack (http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=398006). Looking at the diagram, I was having a hard time wrapping my head around how this works. So I set up my "test bench" and with a bunch of jumpers, a 9V battery, my Rosta stalk and my volt meter and made it happen.

Once I started probing around, it all made sense. Since the Rosta stalk outputs a constant 12V on the set/coast line, and pressing the set/coast button interrupts 12V, it all started making sense. This configuration uses this as the trigger for both relays to get the desired outputs. Pretty trick. Since I am using a Dakota Digital dash, I added another relay to get a ground signal for the DD controller so it will show the cruise light on the dash.

I drew this relay layout last night to hopefully help others. I am going to do an in depth post and video on how to hook all of this up soon.

Nice, that is a much better diagram than the one I mapped out on my notebook Unfortunately the guy who did my column, didn't map the wires for my 4 wire handle he installed so I will be doing the same thing to verify which color is what.

Well, cruise control is installed! Took it out for a short drive yesterday to test it all out. I tried to video as much as I could, but it was hard in tight quarters. I still have to do a little tidying with the wiring and get a proper ring terminal for the ground, but it works! Truck is going in tomorrow to get the exhaust reworked and taken out the back. These dumps are just too loud for my tastes.

Dropped the old girl off to have the exhaust finished out. I am not a patient enough welder, so I took it to the professionals. Looking forward to not having the booming in the cab at idle. The exhaust waves get stuck under the truck and booms. Tested out the cruise on the highway, and it works like a champ. It's the little things in life!

Threading the needle. I went down at lunch. We were trying to determine where to have the exhaust exit. 90° behind the head wheel, 45° behind the rear wheel or straight out with a slight slash tip tucked behind/below the bumper/. Straight out seem to look the best with everything that was going on and not getting to crazy on the bends and welding. He's hopeful to have it done tomorrow.

I am anxious to see it in person. Part of the problem is the cab has no carpet on the back wall and no headliner. It's a bit of a steel trap in there. I do have dynomat strips on the back wall. I may put some carpet back there too. Another project.

I recommend closed cell foam insulation everywhere ALONG with the butyl mats like dynomat. It really completes the sound deadening process. Then carpet on top of that.

Back wall and firewall for all of these products.

I used this stuff, sticks well.
