Plasti Dip for wire harness retainers etc.
Anyone try this stuff or similar? Supposedly it does well under extreme temps. Seems ideal for these, as a start.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fuIjaXSCxk

I would try it, it seems like a good idea. Is that a wire bundle clip? Where did you find that?

I have been using it for years. It works, but you may have to double dip to get a similar thickness that came from the factory.
I have a spray bomb of it also. It takes several coats to replicate the factory finish.

So the metal edges of the clip don't chew into the insulation of your wiring in extreme conditions.

Plus I think a lot of fellas like to add that extra detailing touch. Sometimes I see our trucks all done up all nice, but some small brackets, or nuts etc were never touched up. They really stand out when the rest of the truck looks so good.

Re: Plasti Dip for wire harness retainers etc.
Yep. I'm half tempted to dip the entire thing, perhaps more kind to the frame That said, what you did looks exactly original. Looking forward to seeing how the battery cable retainer comes out too, should be nuts.

We need a new thread on uses for baling wire.
Zip ties are the new baling wire, but you can't hang parts from them.

If I remember right the old timers all said WD-40, duct tape and bailing wire. They neglected to mention vinegar, IMO

Re: Plasti Dip for wire harness retainers etc.
I miss this thread some-how.
I really like Plastic-Dip. I have used it on many projects. Double dipping as already mentioned makes for great results. And I also like the Liquid tape product . I use it on my wiring projects. You could probably use this to touch-up the plastic dip? Three coats is best for this stuff. Link:https://plastidip.com/our-products/liquid-tape/ .

I have been using plastic dip for other projects as well. Just thinking outside of the box.
