My new-old blazer w/ pics

Well, I finally got around to showing some pics of my latest purchase. It is a 72 cst. The pics were taken in the shop I found it in. It looks better now than it does in the pics because I have been cleaning and removing the p.o. handywork like the cb, whips and the fenderflares . It also had one of those boxes on the inner fender for converting the alternator to 110. I have also put on a set of ralleys that I painted white. As you can see by the option sticker it is pretty loaded. Before anyone asks, it is not an original feathers blazer. It was repainted by the p.o. in the early 80's and he had those sticker put on. It was originally a "special" paint according to the option sticker, which is kind of a light brown. It says "special" on the firewall in the engine bay too. I'll try to get better pics later when I get it outside.

Looks like it's in pretty good shape. Like to see it w/o the flares.

good find. Post some current pics when you get a chance. Are you going to keep it a "feathers" blazer?

Re: My new-old blazer w/ pics

Looks pretty good. So,it`s a red-orange`72 that someone painted white and put n.o.s."feathers" on it.The "All Wheel Drive" badges aren`t original, either.I`m just letting you know in case you didn`t already. If anything,I`m saying someone gave it some luvin`at some point. They added the woodgrain on the glovebox, too.Does it still have the orange plaid under the seat covers?

The location of the cb looks like it would have been a knee buster. Great looking project.

Re: My new-old blazer w/ pics

I took some more pics tonight, but they are not that great. I'll try to get some outside during the day. Anyhow, bouncytruck-no, when I get a chance to do the bodywork and repaint, it will be going back to original. The stickers are cracking and peeling in spots, so it would be impossible to save them and I don't want to spend the $ to make new ones. Special-K, it has a red-orange interior, but was originally a light brownish color outside. The pic of the tailgate gives an idea of the original color. I'm not sure where you see the all-wheel drive badges though. The ones on the front fender say 8-350, and the one on the glove box says cst. I'm curious about the glovebox woodgrain though. It is an exact match to the door panels. I'm not an expert by any means, so I'll take your word for it. And yes, all three seats have the plaid on them yet. Actually the plaid cloth is almost perfect, by the vinyl is cracked. I included a pic of the back seat I took earlier. 68350- it has all the usual options plus: tilt, manual throttle, AM-FM radio(which the p.o. said he is going to try to find, but I don't have much faith ), posi rear, highlander package, cheyenne equipment, and "special paint".

I was happy after I ripped out the old carpet in the back and all I found was a couple scratches and some very minor surface rust, its almost mint.

The next thing on the list to do is set the valves and install my new carpet set.

Later, Kage
