79 C10 jack storage

So I finally picked up my jack handle so I have a couplete set. Now I can't get it to lock down correctly. What am I missing. It seems that no matter how I put it, it is sure to bounce loose going down the road. I am also looking for the proper location and orientation of the sticker. Help.

I actually did a search on this thread for jack storage. Reading through all them, and some had pics, it seems that there are 3 places in the engine room where they were stored. This was just one of the threads I read.

Re: 79 C10 jack storage

Used some info I found around and kind of did my own thing. The biggest issue I had was securing the wrench and handle. Figured out how to stack them just right and just threw the sticker on where I liked it. Check it out. Tell me what you think

FWIW: Here is a picture of the original placement of Jack/Decal on a 77 Chevy P/U. Not sure what the difference between a 77 and 79. Larry

This is the location of the decal (factory applied) in my old 79 K10 short bed step-side.

Chris, I know this is an old thread. But where did you get your sticker?

Re: 79 C10 jack storage

I cant remember, I know I just searched online. One thing to be careful of. Washing your compartment. I thought this was a plastic type sticker, I was wrong. messed it up a little.

Good luck

Thanks Chris, we found some on eBay. It was for a friend of mine, he was asking me. He’s got it ready, just need the sticker applied, when it comes. And I think he is going to clean up his rods and paint them too. They do look a little rusty hiding back there.

Re: 79 C10 jack storage

I bought my 1978 C20 new and have not changed it. My rod ends are under the battery box, but the rods in post #14 look to be better placed. My truck does show the factory applied sticker location.

For me the insert an image icon gives only the option to insert a link, same as the insert a link option, so I cannot insert my photo.

The sticker faces with the writing readable from the front of the truck. The top edge of the sticker is in line with the lower hook of the jack, if that is a help.

That's pretty much how my factory 78 had it. Good work.
