F/S: '56 chevy shortbed stepside big window
Hey all,
Well, I've bought something else to work on, and decided that I need to get rid of this '56 since I wouldn''t be able to get to it for many years. It's a '56 Chevy stepside shortbed big window. The body and hood is in good shape, (driver's rear fender is smooth, doesn't have dent for bed-mounted spare tire) doors aren't rusted out (little surface rust in places, one has a small dent) cab in good shape. Bed is straight, tailgate is dented. Uncut dash, orig. gauges, knobs, etc. Comes with a power bench seat pulled out of a late model GM that was going to be recovered and used inside. Everything is off the frame because of frame up restoration. The bulk of everything is done. Frame has been coated against rust, custom motor/tranny mounts have been installed to fit 350/TH400 combo. Truck comes with a rebuilt TH400, shortened and balanced driveline. The cab, fenders, and hood are in various stages of bodywork, with passenger front fender finished and primed. Cab has had rusted corners cut out and new corners welded in. There are new floor pans, (driver's side needs to be welded in) new rocker panels, (need welding in) and new cab supports (need welding in.) Comes with new door and glass weatherstripping from Chevy Duty. The cab and door glass is good. I also have a Painless wiring harness for the truck, along with boxes of stock parts from taking it apart. The truck is in a good stage if you want to do a show-quality frame up restoration, or hotrod it and chop the top and whatever else. I don't have time to finish it. Asking $1700. I'm in Mt. Shasta, CA.

Worth a road trip huh? Come on down, I'll hold it for you. I'm also entertaining ideas on trading it for a '67 GTO project, so if anyone has one of those collecting dust or for sale, let me know.
