Wiper blades... any good one out there?

The old 71 is ready to push snow again and noticed it needs wiper blades pretty bad. I have put some inserts in them but they don't last too long. Anyone have any good suggestions for a cold weather wiper that will last? Anything later model that will utilize the whole arm and blade?

I just replaced the wiper blades on two of my trucks. I was surprised to find out that NAPA had their own version of the Trico one's. It does not have the arm, but it fits perfectly on our Factory wiper arms. I was quite impressed.

I bought a set of stainless blades that look pretty original but use modern blades from Fred(specialty retail) $28 shipped and they work pretty good. These aren’t refills but rather a whole new blade.

I just replaced my wipers that were too long with these from Amazon. Very pleased with both the look and performance. They click right on to our arms, easy off and on, yet secure.

In the 25 years I've driven my truck in the winter, I've found that most blades are crappy at best. To combat that I like to keep a good coat of RainX on my windshield at all times.

With the RainX coating, the blades do an ok job. Even when the wind blows plow snow back in your face.

X2 on the RainX....unless it's raining hard you don't even have to turn the wipers on most of the time.

Unfortunately this truck doesn't get driven in the rain. Snow, ice or melting heavy snow are what i deal with on this one.
I usually use meguires cleaner wax on glass. It helps.

RainX creates a haze for a second every time the wiper goes across it. Really sucks at night or any other low visibility situation.

Trico makes the SS complete wiper blade assembly. You should be able to get them at Orielly's or Napa. Other parts stores might be able to order them as well. I've seen them on Amazon too.

Silicone blades, don't get hard in cold temps, last for years. Been using silicone blades for over 10 years.

Ive had the trico ones on my orange truck for 2 years. I drive it in snow, sleet and ice and they have worked better than the junk regular parts store ones I was getting. The blower motor needs another speed though. Haha

I just picked up a set of the truck from Oreillys. They look like a decent set. Of course it hasn’t rained yet for me to test them out. They certainly look better than the plastic garbage.
