Ton and a half truck question

Been looking for a project 60 to 66 chevy truck, found a C10, 1964 but it's really not worth saving. I run onto a ton and a half or 2 ton truck, not for sure which and it has a nice cab, doors and front end. What all is different on this truck from a C10? I'm pretty sure the fenders are but I'm not to up on these trucks to start with. I can get the frame from the 64 and gather what ever else I need later. The 64 is a short bed plus it has a title.

Re: Ton and a half truck question

The C50, 60 and 80 cabs are basically the same as the C10,20 and 30 cabs. The basic differences is the lack of a transmission hump in the floor and an extra brace across the lower firewall. These are easily changed. The hoods are the same but none of the rest of the front sheetmetal is. That is unless the truck you are looking at is an LCF.

Re: Ton and a half truck question

I found a real nice cab with doors for $400, everything is in it except the cluster. It's a 65 or 66 and I found a 64 C10 short bed that is in rough shape, maybe some small pickings on it but everything body wise is junk. It has a frame, no rear end, but the best thing it has a title. I always wanted one of these trucks so slowly I may piece one together. One more question, The grille is the same in the bigger trucks aren't they? They look the same anyway. Thanks for the info.

Re: Ton and a half truck question

The big truck grills are a little different and the '64-'66 grills are highly sought after to be used in the light duty trucks.

Re: Ton and a half truck question

I went and looked at the cab today, all the glass is good, rust in lower door lips, both front cab mounts, the worst is between the floors and kick panels. Left side lower door post has some rust also but all in all it is pretty solid for a Ky truck. Column is in it along with the seat, it has some rips but the frame work and springs are good.
