Does anyone here have experience with a reproduction dash, headlamp, and engine wiring harness?

My 1969 K10 harness is getting thin in the gills and the bulkhead connector is breaking apart.

I would like to stay with factory style connectors and terminals so it looks correct.

I have M&H harness with si altenator upgrade and hei upgrades with the under dash section as well they look and feel factory and do not look cheap knock off

I installed an American Autowire underdash harness in my Burban. It was absolutely plug and play. That was more than 25k miles ago without issue.
I originally ordered one from M&H, but it wasn't for a Suburban (Not M&Hs fault). I ended up using the American Autowire harness as there was an 8 week wait for a Suburban harness from M&H and American Autowire had one on the shelf.
Both harnesses looked to be using the same components and I didn't notice any differences in quality.

I am currently in the process of doing an entire harness assembly on my 70 C10. I am using the American Auto Wire Classic update kit. It has been super easy and straight forward. I believe they sell it in pieces if you just need the front end or engine kit.

Doesn't the American auto wire use their own switches? Ign,headlight,etc
Do they have the same connections as the original, or are you stuck wit having to source a replacement from them if one fails?

For what its worth, I like to save a BUNCH of money on projects like this and roll my own wires. Most of the terminals are "Packard Type 56" connectors. You can easily remove the terminal end from the plastic connector, match the wire color at any home improvement or hardware store, cut the wire to length, crimp on the new terminal end without needing specialized tools other then the crimper/stripper already in your toolbox, and save the money you saved for extra cold snacks.
I did a quick google for "Packard type 56 connector" and saved these photos.
If you go this route, do have a care when ordering terminal ends. They make ends specific for 18 gauge, 14-16 gauge, and 12 gauge wires. Most of the wires you'll need to make are in this range.
I "stock" these connectors in my electrical box so on a Sunday afternoon when everything is closed I can still make wires when I need to.
