Sounds like a good idea. You never know until you try it and test a couple.

There were new Repop cast ones advertised on Ebay at one time but I haven't seen any lately.

Re: What do you think a reproduced Tow Hook would be worth????

Hey man, make rear bumper brackets for a 2wd swb with leaf springs instead. I'll know exactly how pending a shop getting around to some slots and welds. When I'm done the market should be at least 10-15 trucks

Cool idea on the hooks OP if it pencils out for you.

OT: Shame no one reproduces charcoal cans, not that I'm aware anyway. I'd think there would be a good market for them - the cans were the same across all GM models, mostly. So much for the govts. mandate on emissions I guess.

Re: What do you think a reproduced Tow Hook would be worth????

I have a set that came with a truck. It has the part number 3941733 on one and 3941734 on the other. Both tow hook's part numbers are in reverse so are these reproduction hooks?

Re: What do you think a reproduced Tow Hook would be worth????

A cast hook is worth nothing to me--it is merely scrap metal waiting to be recycled. Having a hook just for the look is a disaster waiting to happen.
Forged repops, however, would be welcome, as long as they both duplicate the appearance and are not stupid expensive like the originals are.

Re: What do you think a reproduced Tow Hook would be worth????

Definitely a blast from the past, that was 14 years ago when I was in college. This was at a time you could still find original hooks for $10-50 at yards, and they were only bringing $250-300 on the board. Still remember hoarders buying them. Many are probably smiling now. A few actually ran with my idea years later about casting them. Bill White was the one who made some good quality ones of the 72' extremes. The ones on ebay are pretty rough looking cast models.

NO, only originals have the GM part numbers.
