PS bracket recommendations - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I was going to change my belts and realized the power steering bracket looks like some sort of Frankenbracket. As a result, the pulley is misaligned, and the belt started to squeak. What do you guys recommend, the engine is a 327?

I'd use the factory bracket that hangs off the water pump

I grabbed a used small block local to me and it had a factory bracket on it. You’re welcome to it for shipping, I can email you pics if you like.

I think the part bolted to the head is and alternator bracket, so frankenbracket seems appropriate...
If you sight down the inner pulley, does it appear to line up w/ the crank pulley the outer bracket is in?
You might want to do some internet searches for pics since the PS pump has a number of brackets that make up the assembly. You're likely to need more than one.
Hopefully 72again4x4 has what's needed.

Franken, so did you make this Frankenbracket!?!! haha. The pulley does not appear to line up with the crank pulley, if I read you right. The squealing of the belt is what led me to this discovery.

This truck was cobbled together when i bought it, but I couldn't be happier as it is now my daily driver. Still learning. Thanks guys and God Bless during these difficult times of our great country

The factory power steering should be low on the drivers side not up high like your picture. First off does your block have the mounting holes in it for the P/S pump?
The pictures are of my short water pump install on a 68 truck with a late model 350 motor. The bracket in the first picture that attached to the water pump ended up not working so I cut it off and modified it. I cut and drilled it for it to work.

It sucks not being able to hear! LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB! After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
