The American Sportsman With Curt Gowdy
Growing up in the 60's one of the things I remember was watching Curt Gowdy on The American Sportsman Sunday afternoons. I believe Chevy was a big sponsor of the show and Chevy trucks and RV's were commonly seen on it. In this episode from late 1968 we see a new 1969 K5 Blazer with full wheel covers and white wall tires. Towards the end there is a new C/20 with an aluminum cabover camper, maybe an Airstream or Silver Streak. Yeah the show is a bit corny by today's standards, but it was great back in the day. Enjoy:

Re: The American Sportsman With Curt Gowdy
For some reason your link starts the video way past where you see the Blazer. So when you open the link start the video at the beginning where the Blazer is.

Re: The American Sportsman With Curt Gowdy
Interesting how this was filmed prior to banning DDT I guess. They talked about eagles being a rare sight and then were saying how the blue heron was almost extinct. They've come a long way since. Many changes since those days. There's one for the better.
Just as the son starts the Blazer and they start to drift away one says "pretty" and the other says "beautiful" about the Blazer. Just after 1:45

Re: The American Sportsman With Curt Gowdy
I enjoyed the video as much as seeing the Blazer and truck/camper. Dinner looked delicious too.

Re: The American Sportsman With Curt Gowdy
This video brought back some memories!!!!!!
I use to watch the American Sportsman all the time, IMO it was the best outdoor show at the time, but there wasn't much competition back then either. Curt lived in Bethlehem NH and I remember my buddy pointing out his house once when we were at his uncles house, in Bethlehem, hunting rabbits with beagles. We were in his blue & white 1972 Blazer. Who knew that these old trucks, and Blazers, would be so endeared, and bring back memories from more than 40 yrs ago...... Gary
