I just got an email from LMC today that showed these...........A bit pricey at around $2000 but it sure would be nice.

Re: Serpentine belt systems on 350 small block
I purchased a March serpentine belt setup for a SBC about 10 years ago.
Looks great but is a pain. Ac belt vibrates. PS cap is hard to access.... I have had great luck with the stock chevy serpentine systems. I went to the pick and pull and took it all off a 1990 suburban. But the LMC one comes with all the good accessories! I'd like to see some reviews too.

I like custom stuff too but I can't justify a 2K serpentine kit. The GM kits are a proven design and look good if you detail them.

can you use 85 or 87 to 93 or 95 GM belt systems from any SBC truck for my 76 K10?

i would go with the stock stuff cleaned up, can be had for pennies on the dollar and very functional.

There is a another style out there that has the alternator on the driver's side along with the power steering pump. The a/c compressor is mounted on the passenger side with the belt tensioner. These will bolt up better to the older style block and head but you will have to rework your wiring and a/c lines. The wiring kits are available in the classified section if you don't feel comfortable doing all of that yourself. What I like about this style of set up is that with a couple of adapter brackets you can upgrade from the R4 compressor to a Sanden 508 style. With either style of brackets there is a pulley available to mount in the place of the compressor if you are not running a/c.

Re: Serpentine belt systems on 350 small block
The first set I traded for them from a buddy who was upgrading to a March set. I was told they were off of later 90s pickup. The second set (with the alternator on the drivers side) came out of early 90s pickup.

Here is the first set I got that will not work if you only have one bolt hole in the passenger side head.

Re: Serpentine belt systems on 350 small block
Looks like the same setup I have on my 72. From a 1996-1998 Chevy truck I presume? If so mine works great. Let me know if you need help with the later alternator wiring, its a CS130D alternator I think.

Re: Serpentine belt systems on 350 small block
I have the GM kit on mine and it looks and functions great!
Not sure why gmachinz didn't reference his for sale thread http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=676344. Although the OP has never responded after his 1st post so maybe he doesn't care anymore.

Re: Serpentine belt systems on 350 small block
I have a serp setup that came on my 78 Blazer. My hose isn't the best fit so I'm open to suggestions.
Also, my serp bracket has a spot for something under the passenger side AC bracket. I don't know what would have gone there. Maybe a smog pump? |
