lowering
hey..i have a '71 cheyenne truck and i was thinking about lowering it with a 2-4 drop or a 6-4 drop can't decide any ideas...also some one who has lowered this year of truck how much did it cost you to do this? thinks

Hello,
I would recommend checking out 2 places. McGaughy's and ECE (early classic enterprises). For a simple 2" drop in front, you can get drop spindles or you can get drop springs. For the rear you can get drop springs also. The more you drop, the more you must take into account the alignment of front wheels, alignment of driveline in rear, and also shock lengths. The shops I mentioned above, can give you expanded detail on these issues. Have fun!

I've had excellent success with CPP products. Here is a link to their site and some of their truck parts.
http://www.classicperform.com/6092chevtrk.htm Their drop spindle set-up upgrades the upper ball joint and includes a new pair in their kit (which is why I went with them). My truck has 5" of front drop and 4.5" of rear drop, a 71 LWB Custom Deluxe.
