Re: wiring question
it can depend on what the column came from. some domestic vehicles used a separate circuit for the signals like European cars did and would have an extra bulb for that, some used the same circuit as the brakes, so brake input would go to the signal switch and if the signals were being used then the signal switch sent power to the other side like a brake would do but the flashing bulb stayed flashing on the side required.
let us know, I can probably dig something up as a diagram but I need to know roughly what vehicle the column came from. |

are you using a pre configured wiring harness? the main manufacturers of automotive wiring always include instructions for GM columns, because there are so many universal aftermarket that use the same wiring pay attention to the wiring harness instructions when it comes to the brake/turn wiring for the rear lights, a lot of people wiring it wrong the first time. if its asking for single bulb brake turn vs dual bulb brake turn, its wanting to know if your brake light and turn signal are the same filament, usually on most truck taillights the answer is yes, import trucks no.

Re: wiring question
95? older column my butt
i have an 86 gm van column in 58 truk go to painless and ezwire sites and download both sets of instructions for their simplest wiring. they both use gm wiring colors and columns. read and understand how the column connects. for stop/turn: you basically have 3 hots in (haz blinker, turn blinker, stop switch) and 4 light out to each corner it will be the same for the old add-on turn switch like they'd have in an old truck, except only 1 blinker and stop switch power in

Re: wiring question
sure are, and front signals dont have a brake bulb, just a turn. so that why its a big deal how you wire the column for the rears was my point.
