Re: Front brake conv. ??
Just be careful.
The van parts are a little lighter duty than the 2wd pickup parts. That is: a G10 van is like a super light C10; a G20 more closely resembles a C10 squarebody. K

Re: Front brake conv. ??
I would suggest a G20 van for a disc brake upgrade. The few that I have seen have a different LCA shaft than a C10 Squarebody. Be aware that the G series van steering boxes will not work for a power steering conversion if the box is mounted almost vertical with the pitman arm to the rear and pointing down. Those boxes turn the opposite of a pickup box.

Re: Front brake conv. ??
Just get some later model spindles and ball joints. You can find them on RockAuto.com if you like. Here I used 75 model spindles on my truck. Shows parts also. http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...isc+brake+swap

Re: Front brake conv. ??
You guys are awesome , Chevy Fleetside I read your post last night and thought Hell Yeah wasn't looking toward the engine removal for a complete crossmember swap at all maybe I can score some of these parts on my budget. Did you go with the same year 75 for the booster?

Re: Front brake conv. ??
NO. You can not use a K series steering box and pitman arm on a C series truck. The box casting is the same but the sector shaft is different.

Re: Front brake conv. ??
I thought the G20 spindles are pretty much the same as the C10. I was looking at how to lower my G20 and people use the C10 drop spindles.

Re: Front brake conv. ??
Thank you. There are many, many, many boosters that are compatible with all of my booster brackets. Just not the squarebody boosters. Those have the factory mounting brackets riveted to them

Re: Front brake conv. ??
Back in the day, I used 86 C10 spindles, rotors, and calipers on my 69 C10. But I also had to use a 73-87 C10 center link and tie rod ends.
Bought used spindles and center link for a song at a junkyard. Also found a used master cylinder, prop valve, booster, and mounting bracket from a 71-72 pickup. That was around 25 years ago, when junkyard parts for our trucks were plentiful. MPBrakes makes a complete kit for your 69 C10, but they are not cheap.

Re: Front brake conv. ??
The factory used a single 11" booster, but an aftermarket dual 8" will work.
A stock one would have looked like this but was spaced out from the firewall with a bracket. Master cylinder bore diameter was 1-1/8" with power. Manual was probably 15/16" or 1". Here's a dual 8" setup from MP Brakes. They also make a dual 9". These guys make their own brackets using an actual firewall and pedal assembly in the process. Their pre- and post-sales support is second to none. https://www.mpbrakes.com/booster-mas...m-booster.asp?

Re: Front brake conv. ??
Keep in mind that your engine will need to make at least 16" vacuum at idle for use with a vacuum booster. MP Brakes might even say 18" minimum for best performance.

Re: Front brake conv. ??
Awesome ,got the ol gal fired up yesterday it has a 350 in it,now I need to move on to brakes and trying to decide what to do .The master cly. is toast so may just jump over to the power disc setup . OK 1 more ? if I do the spindle swap to newer wont that make my front a little wider than the rear?

Re: Front brake conv. ??
If there is any difference, I've never noticed it. 255-70x15 tires on 8"wheels. I'm talking about 73-87 spindles, center link, and tie rod ends.

Re: Front brake conv. ??
I picked up a g20 last sumer I was thinking about using it for disc brake conversion cross reference spindles and a arms on rock auto listed them as the same
G20s also use the 1 1/4 hd brake rotor Another member on here posted 73 77 elcamino inner tie rods with 73 87 outer tie rods will fit the 67 70 center link I ended up with a complete 72 running gear for my build |

The 1/4" extra on each side doesn't bother me at all. If it did, I would just add a 1/4" spacer to the stock rear end
