Started on my marker light fuel filler!
Gettin the bug to work on the truck again. Received some money last week I wasn't expecting so I decided to get rid of that cab tank. I've got a polk sub under the seat, and I had to lift the seat up on 2x4s and its still humped in the middle. Been that way almost 10 years now, but its gotta go! So Saturday I drove up to Olympia to see Wes and buy one of his tank conversions. 2hrs of driving and as soon as I get there the radiator seam lets go. BTW Wes, I bought the most expensive stop leak i've ever seen at that truck stop. But it did get me home no problems anyway. Had a spare radiator so I put that in first today, did an oil change/maintenance and then started on the fun stuff. Check this out. Accomplished this the last half of today.

Wrong! I happened to have a mid 80s buick century junker here. So I took the door and neck off of it. Neck is the exact same size as the tank inlet and everything. Havent installed the tank yet, so dont know how close everythings going to work, but I can mod it if I have to. Kinda pumped to be workin on the old beast again. And the extra space in the cab will be most excellent! Dont know why only 1 pic works?? I'll try attaching them. Last edited by chevymad; 07-06-2004 at 12:21 AM. Reason: pics wont work |

Job well Done! Looks very nice, and stock Question, Does it hold pretty tight against the bed when closed? Just wondering how well it holds against the bed, as well as how hard is it to get ahold of and open? Again, Nice work!

Holds real nice and tight against the bed. And its very easy to open. Everyone i've showed so far cant tell i've done anything to it. It barely sticks out further then stock.. BARELY. And I think I can cure that by pullin the gasket off the marker light.
