Under hood light reel

Under hood light reel. These were OEM on 88-98 trucks. They have an 18 foot cord and will reach all around the truck. I have made wiring harnesses with an inline fuse that plugs directly into the "mystery" power lead found on the firewalls of our trucks. I have 2 available. Both have been tested and perform as designed. The light has a magnetic back so you can place it anywhere on the truck for hands free use.

1 NOS reel with wiring harness, $75 (reduced to $60 shipped).
1 used with wiring harness for $65 (reduced to $50 shipped.)

Re: Under hood light reel

What is this "mystery" power lead you are referring to? My truck doesn't have this. Thanks

It's a lead that comes off the under hood harness. I believe it was meant for emissions. Here is a pic of it. If you can't find it you may want to look in the wire loom or the plastic channel that runs along the firewall.

I have that wire, is it hot all the time? I haven't checked it.

Nope, only hot when the key is on.

I may use that for my electric choke then. Thank you for the info and sorry to the OP for the highjack. You will now be returned to your regular scheduled program.
