Fan shroud
Did all 67-72 trucks come with a fan shroud? Mine does not have one and never according to my dad who daily drove this truck for 30 years. I am about 90% complete on my restoration and just bought a new radiator and figured I would see if I should get a shroud also. I assume it could only help cooling. The truck is a non AC with a 350 three on the tree.

Re: Fan shroud
I believe all V8s had shrouds. Your engine is likely in the forward mount 2WD V8 position. 4WD V8s had their SBCs in the rearward mounts, so the shroud is deeper. I have the 4WD shroud since the previous owner had swapped out the I6 and mounted a V8 in the back 4WD position, which kept the exhaust and driveshaft the same as before.
There are AC and non-AC shrouds, but I think AC shrouds may just have a mounting tab for AC lines. There is also a BBC shroud available. My sister and her family are in Hewitt. I'll tell her to keep an eye out for it when you have it back on the road!

Re: Fan shroud
If the engine was a 6 cylinder in-line most would have just a metal "finger guard" curved top plate, no actual shroud. I have heard that 6 cylinder trucks with factory A/C did have a full shroud but have never seen one myself. Thinking that would be a rather scarce offering. No BBC 67-72 trucks were offered from the factory with 4WD, the 2WD BBC trucks would have a similar full shroud. Having a shroud does make a big difference in cooling. Just be sure the fan is positioned half way in and half way out of the shroud opening to obtain the best cooling effect possible.

Re: Fan shroud
My father in laws truck had a V-8 in it when we bought it. It had the finger guard only. I always a summed the PO had swapped it in and left the old 6 cover in it.
