original 74 seat cover for SMS

Does anyone have a 74 deluxe interior seat cover? I don't think it matters if it's in rough shape, as long as most of the pattern is in tact. I know there's a couple nice original 74s here on the forum - maybe I can get some really good pictures and measurements?

I just heard from SMS and they're having trouble making my seat cover because they're having an "issue with the pattern." I think that's just double talk for "we don't have your pattern and don't know how to make this."

They've offered to send me the material so I can have it made locally, but, I don't have the pattern either, and I'm guessing it'd cost me twice what I paid for the SMS cover as I got it during their 20% off sale.

It looks like this, Bob. Herringbone, I believe. However, I think this is from a 73, so I'm not sure if the seat back pattern changed or not. My original cover was long gone when I got the truck and the 74 brochure only shows the seat bottom (which looks the same).

Do you think I could trouble you for some better pictures and measurements of where things start, how far apart the stitching is, etc? I figure if I give them that, at least they can come up with a pretty close approximation.

Re: original 74 seat cover for SMS

I would message the member TKCR she does alot with seats.. SMS should be able to use any stock seat cover to measure the fitment im assuming you can just tell them how far apart the pleats are apart and how far off the seat bottom that trim line is

I’m not going to be much help. I have only come across 1 seat that’s similar to the one pictured above. And once I remove the old covers, they get thrown out, especially if they are torn up.

Thanks for the pic. They SHOULD be able to determine measurements based on that pic. Or at least close enough. Hopefully it works. Thanks again.
