Rear diff oil bung?
Hey guys, dropped the oil out of front and rear dif’s today. Both look like new inside. No filings, etc. However, the rear diff doesn’t have a bung plug to add oil. Has anyone seen this before? My blazer has one but this 4x4 doesn’t - but it all looks stock.

Re: Rear diff oil bung?
Only thing I can say is the easy fix is to buy a cover with a fill port in it.

Re: Rear diff oil bung?
I think it's actually maybe in the pic that I sent. I just maybe didn't clean it out well enough. I didn't realize some of them were flush with an allen wrench hole or ratchet hole. So it may be where it's supposed to be. I was looking for an outy like on the front dif and what's on my Blazer 4x4. It's out at my brother's so I can't whip out and check but I'm assuming that is where it is.

Re: Rear diff oil bung?
Are the pictures you posted of the drivers side of the differential?
I ask because on my 1968 C10 12 bolt rear end the oil bung is on the passenger side. It's tucked under a metal "rib" and can be a little hard to find for the first time. |
