Front bumper brackets 2wd vs 4wd
Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving!
Does anyone know if the front bumper brackets are different, between a 63-66 C (2wd) vs K (4wd) model? Or any pictures I could use for comparison? Thanks.

Re: Front bumper brackets 2wd vs 4wd
In case anyone is wondering, the reason I ask this is because the assembly manual calls out different part numbers between the C and K models. I haven't been able to verify that there are any physical differences though...
Thanks in advance if anyone can provide further info.

Re: Front bumper brackets 2wd vs 4wd
Les, thank you very much, I really appreciate it! Pictures would be great. I haven't been able to find any repop 4wd brackets, although some vendors do list the same bracket for C/K models. Whoever mounted the bumper on my K Suburban really twisted the brackets to get them on, so I'm hoping I can find K brackets or at least figure out how to modify the C brackets. Thanks again!

Dave,
Photos showing both K10 and C10 front bumper braces. The K10 front bumper braces are the ones not cleaned. The C10s are cleaned and coated. Les Last edited by aotte1; 12-03-2018 at 12:57 AM. |

Re: Front bumper brackets 2wd vs 4wd
Les, thank you very much, this is extremely helpful! Now, my task is to find a pair of the K10 brackets... If you have any "insight" on where I might find a set please send me a PM.
Thanks again for the pics!

Re: Front bumper brackets 2wd vs 4wd
Attempting to revive this thread. I doubt I'm the only one needing K10 front bumper brackets.
Is there an aftermarket solution to getting K series front bumper brackets yet? I appreciate all the photos posted here, it gives me hope that if there still isn't an aftermarket bracket available, c10 brackets could be used with minor modifications to fit a k10 application. Has anyone taken this approach? It looks as though the geometry is the same at the bumper end, and only changes on the other end where it bolts to the k10 frame. I feel like my only option at this point would be to cut the c10 brackets in half, and fab the proper fitment for the end that bolts to the frame. Any feedback on this approach would be appreciated! |
